WHAT CLOTHING AND EQUIPMENT IS REQUIRED?

Each student must wear suitable clothing in order for the training to take place. As a minimum the below is a list of clothing and equipment that must be worn:

  • Motorcycle boots or sturdy footwear that provides support and ankle protection

  • Textile or leather motorcycle trousers, alternatively heavy demin trousers.

  • Textile or leather motorcycle jacket, alternatively a heavy duty jacket with layers underneath.

  • Motorcycle helmet (ECE 2205/06 approved)

  • Motorcycle gloves with adequate protection

  • Any weather protection, such as waterproofs as required

The above equipment a clothing is not available to borrow and must be brought with you to training. 

CAN I USE MY OWN BIKE FOR TRAINING?

Yes you can, but the requirements below must be provided prior to training commencing.

  • Current insurance certificate, showing under instruction is included. This is not always provided as standard.

  • Valid MOT certificate

  • Valid road tax

  • L plates (as required).

The instructor will inspect the bike before training and should any defects be identified, this could cause the training to be cancelled until the defects are corrected. 

CLOTHING AND EQUIPMENT NOT PERMITTED FOR TRAINING.

Below is a list of clothing and equipment that will not be permitted on course:

  • Motocross helmet or gloves

  • Trainers or canvas shoes

  • Exposed skin

  • Tracksuits, and/or jogging bottoms

  • Ripped jeans

  • Lightweight jackets

  • Skiing gloves

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING WITH ME?

You will need a DVLA printed code to show that you hold a valid licence as required by the course booked.

Any documents, for example theory certificate and CBT certificate. These will depend on what course is booked.
